The Elkridge Agenda
A commitment to the residents of Elkridge
Putting shovels in the ground on approved projects in Elkridge
I pledge to put shovels in the ground on approved projects in Elkridge and prioritize delayed projects over new proposals in the budgeting process. Howard County struggles to follow through on commitments made to Elkridge residents via the Capital Budget. Year after year projects are proposed but seldom initiated– then recycled as proposals for the next budget.
Deep and equitable investment in Elkridge via the County Capital Budget
As your next Councilman I pledge to advocate for Capital Budgets that equitably invests resources into Elkridge so that its residents receive a fair share, proportional to its population, of county services, amenities and investment.
Elkridge residents deserve a community pool
I pledge to advocate at the County Council for a pool to be built in Elkridge by 2030 or earlier. Elkridge is the only planning district in Howard County without its own public pool.
Building the long awaited High School #14 in Elkridge
As your D2 Councilman I will prioritize the acquisition and transfer of land at the Troy Park site to the Board of Education so that construction planning can begin for HS #14.
Elkridge is home to 1/6th of Howard County’s population. Our children in Elkridge should have a local high school. The County recognizes this fact, and that’s why the County Executive included Elkridge HS #14 in his FY25 Capital Improvement Plan.
Improvements to Route 1 bicycle and pedestrian safety, Increasing transit options
We need pedestrian crossings and bike safety measures along our major traffic corridors:
Route 1 and the Patapsco River.
Route 1 and the CSX tracks.
Montgomery Road and I-95.
Route 1 and MD 100.
Route 1 and MD 175
MD 175 and Gateway Drive/Waterloo Rd (108)
MD 175 and I-95
Route 1 and MD 32
Elkridge residents should have access to direct public transit service between Elkridge at Montgomery and Route 1 to both Downtown Columbia and BWI to better support economic growth in Howard County.
